Malawi, also known as ‘The Warm Heart of Africa’, is landlocked between Zambia, Tanzania and Mozambique and lies in the Great Rift Valley with the magnificent Lake Malawi, also known as Lake Nyasa, creating the border with Tanzania. The third largest lake in Africa and eighth largest in the world, Lake Malawi is the centrepiece of the country and offers a wide variety of wildlife. The lake is the major destination for Malawians and tourists looking for aquatic based recreational activities of snorkelling, diving, sailing, water skiing and day trips to the picturesque islands.
