Starts: 13th April. See the top attractions of Egypt - the Pyramids and Luxor and relax, swim and snorkel by the Red Sea, then head to Turkey for more sightseeing and an unforgettable ANZAC experience

Day 1: 13 April - Cairo
Tuesday. Marhaba, welcome to Egypt and the start of your holiday! Arrive Cairo, included transfer to hotel and overnight. Overnight - Cairo
Day 2: Pyramids of Giza & Saqqara
Cairo - Luxor. A big day out at the pyramids and sphinx at Giza. Perhaps opt to hire a camel! Later we travel to Saqqara, to explore the myraid tombs and temples at the site and see Zhoser's step pyramid - constructed by Imhotep, the pharaoh's chief architect in 27 BC! Time to freshen up and relax a little before this evening we travel by overnight train to Luxor. Opt for a sleeper cabin upgrade, if you desire. Overnight - train (B)

Day 3: Explore Ancient Thebes
Arrival and check into our hotel. Time to explore Luxor on foot following the waterside corniche or maybe stop for drink at one of the many Nile side cafes and tea houses. Tonight, an optional visit is offered to view Temple of Luxor at night. Book and pay locally. Remainder of the evening at leisure. Overnight - Luxor (B)
Day 4: Valley of the Kings & Queens
Luxor - Dahab. Why not watch the sunrise from the heady heights of a hot air balloon - take the optional hot air balloon ride over Luxor and see it come alive in the morning sun. Early today, we visit Luxor’s famous West Bank. The twin seated statues known as the Colossi of Memnon represent the first view of what is to come. We then visit the legendary Valleys of the Kings and Queens and the imposing ramped and limestone - colonnaded Temple of Hatshepsut. Hatshepsut was one of only 3 Egyptian ruling queens. Perhaps the most famous tomb in the Valley of the Kings is that of the boy-King Tutankhamen. Archaeologist Howard Carter discovered his intact and treasure -filled tomb in 1922. Taking a break, we later visit the colossal Temple of Karnak.

This evening, we travel by overnight bus to Dahab via Hurghada. Overnight - bus journey
Day 5: Dahab
Arrival and hotel check-in in our great hotel. SCUBA diving, snorkelling, sun-worshipping, horse-riding, chilling, shopping - take your pick. You’ve 4 whole days to do as you want. Today is spent at leisure. Overnight - Dahab (B)
Days 6 - 8: Plenty to offer!
Today offers an optional snorkelling excursion to the Blue Hole. 80 metres deep, the Blue Hole boasts an abundance of colourful coral, fish and marine life. Most of the aquatic species live within the first 5 metres beneath the sea level, allowing even the novice a fantastic display of the underwater world.

Tonight, opt for an energetic climb to the summit of Mt Sinai and visit St Katherine's Monastery. The climb commences in the early hours of the morning and peaks with the grand finally at sunrise. Camel and jeep treks into the surrounding Sinai Desert are also available locally.

Day 9: Egyptian Museum
Dahab - Cairo. Early today we return to Cairo by bus, arriving early afternoon. Later we enjoy a guided visit to the Egyptian Museum. The prize exhibit has to been the priceless treasures of King Tutankhamen. The rest of the afternoon and evening is free for you to enjoy Cairo your way. Overnight - Cairo (B)
Day 10: 22 April - Cairo - Istanbul
Thursday 22 April 2010. Check out by 12 noon, we transfer you to Cairo airport for your onward flight (flight not included) where your ANZAC adventure begins.

Turkish Airlines offers open jaw flights between London, Istanbul and Cairo, check the THY website for more details or we can arrange flights on your behalf! Welcome to Turkey and the start of your awesome ANZAC experience! Choice of shuttle transfers to hotel. Rest of the day free in Istanbul – a city that straddles both Europe and Asia! Day 11: Istanbul old city
Enjoy a guided tour of the old city - Sultanahmet, taking in the stunning Iznik tiled Blue Mosque, Hippodrome area, 6th century Hagia Sofia and more. This afternoon, we spend a relaxing afternoon on a Bosphorus cruise. When the sun sets, why not enjoy our optional Istanbul by night bolt on! With dinner, belly dancers and entertainment at a great Istanbul venue. A top value evening and a great way to break the ice and meet fellow travellers (transport shuttle included). Day 12: Gallipoli
Istanbul - Gallipoli. A very early departure to the WW1 battlefields on Gallipoli Peninsular. This afternoon, enjoy a guided tour (subject to timing and traffic conditions) of the evocative war memorials that dot the region, for example; Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair, Johnston’s Jolly, the trenches and Kabatepe - the modest ANZAC museum. Early this evening, we’ll relax at our exclusive ANZAC Eve Turkish BBQ before later taking our places amongst the many at the Dawn Service site for the atmosphere charged ANZAC Eve vigil. Day 13: ANZAC Day - Gallipoli
First light heralds a poignant bugle call and commencement of the Dawn Service. After the service and armed with your maps, you’ve a chance to independently explore many of the trenches and memorial sites as you head up to Lone Pine or Chunuk Bair for the Australian or New Zealand National services. Later this afternoon, we return to Istanbul, where upon our late evening arrival, we check into our hotel for a well-earned rest after such an emotion-filled day. (Timing on 25th April subject to coach traffic) Overnight - Istanbul
Day 14: 26 April - Istanbul
Monday 26th April 2010. Tour ends after breakfast and hotel check out at 12 noon. We hope you had a wonderful tour and memorable Egyptian and ANZAC experience.

Note: Istanbul sites are closed on the following days, this in NO WAY affects your touring program: Grand Bazaar and Egyptian Spice Market - closed Sunday, Hagia Sofia - closed Monday, Topkapi Palace closed on Tuesday. (B)
