Zanzibar International Film Festival

Zanzibar screens some of the most cutting-edge cinema from Africa and beyond during the annual Zanzibar Film Festival.

Full-length features, world premieres and local shorts are shown in venues around Zanzibar during the festival. Films are submitted according to the theme of the year and entered into various competitions and categories. It all leads up to the awards ceremony on the final night, where the best of the festival’s films are recognised. And let’s not forget the parties! For the duration of the festival, DJs and live music acts are hosted in party venues across the island, so if you’re heading there, don’t forget your dancing shoes! Dates for 2012 TBC.
