In 2011, organisers estimated that 100 000 Israelis plus 5000 tourists took part in the Pride Parade, which ends with a huge party on Gordon Beach. In contrast to many other parts of Israel, Tel Aviv is liberal, hedonistic and secular, with far more bars than synagogues.
