Stunningly situated on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast, fringed by the Taurus Mountains, Fethiye is a charming coastal port with a breathtaking outer bay strewn with islands. The resort is an ideal base from which to opt to enjoy a wonderful surrounding beaches and coastline. Fethiye is located on the ancient city of Telmessos; ruins of the Hellenistic theatre is by the main quay. Fethiye itself offers a choice of charming cafes, bars and restaurants, not to mention shops, just perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

On the hill behind Fethiye is the ancient castle, standing on the place where the city was first founded. The remaining walls date back to the eleventh century. Rebuilt during the fifteenth century by the Knights of Rhodes, the castle was used as a naval base. The views from the top are stunning, especially at sunset. Throughout Fethiye, you can come across Lycian remains and there is a Roman Theatre near to the town centre.

Fethiye is a main starting point for boat cruises to some of the offshore islands and you can opt to go diving for the day, explore the Lycian ruins dotted about the coast or just maroon yourself at a beach or bar! Fethiye is also one of the ports from which gulet cruises depart.
